Do I have to port my number?
There are two options
Option 1: you port your number and Vivant becomes your phone provider. In this case, we handle everything for you. All you need to say is proceed
Option 2: you keep your number with your current provider, Vivant provides a secondary line. You must contact your existing provider and forward the calls to SoundHound. When a customer needs to speak to the store, the calls will ring on the Vivant number that is provided to you
I have my Internet and phones bundled, what do I do here?
You can either move your Internet and phones to Vivant, or you can keep your Internet with your provider and only move the phone number to Vivant.
I have a contract in place, what do I do?
Generally, that is not an issue, we can still work with it. Please send us a copy of your bill along with the contract expiration and one of our team members will find the best path to move forward. To be clear, regardless, we can deploy SoundHound services.
What is the cost?
The first line will be $34.99 a month. Any additional line will be $29.99 per month
I have a price lock, can you lock my prices?
Yes, as part of our agreement with Vivant, your rate is fixed and will not increase
What about phone hardware?
We will ship out a phone converter for you. It is pre-programmed and ready to go. Power it up, connect it to the Internet, and plug your existing phone into it
I use VoIP phones already, can you work with that?
In this case, we will ship out a VoIP phone instead of the phone converter. Again, it is plug & play, you take out your old VoIP phone and plug this new one in and you are off to the races
Why does my existing system not work with SoundHound?
Your existing provider does not support a feature required to implement the SoundHound AI. When your customers are trying to get a hold of the store but your phone number is forwarded to SoundHound, this creates an endless loop. For this reason, we need to move to a newer technology that allows for SoundHound to be able to send the calls back to the store if someone wants to talk to a manager or place a catering order etc.
How long will the phone number port take?
Porting generally takes about 3 to 5 business days. We will work diligently to ensure that the entire system is rolled out all at once.
How does the installation work?
Installation is straightforward.
For Phone Adapter: You will receive the package in the mail, unbox it, plug it into power, Internet and connect your existing phone to the back of the adapter and you are done.
For VoIP phones: just remove your old VoIP phones, plug in the new one to power and Internet, and you are done. Everything is pre-programmed and ready to go.
